Have you ever made the recipe two days before and then just heated it up the day you needed to serve it

I haven’t but here’s what I would suggest: Make the sauce but NOT the pasta. Cook the sauce with the sausage and broccoli rabe according to the directions, let cool, and then put in a container in your fridge. When you’re ready to cook, boil your pasta, warm up the sauce in a large fry pan, and reserve a little cooking water. Add the drained pasta to the fry pan with the warmed sauce and mix until combined, splashing a little pasta water to get that saucy consistency
